The UK construction industry demonstrated continued resilience in April 2025, with output rising by 0.9%, the third consecutive month of growth. This momentum was largely driven by a 1.4% increase in new work and a modest 0.3% rise in repair and maintenance. Over the three-month period to April 2025, overall output grew by 0.5%, supported by steady gains across six of the nine construction sectors, particularly in private housing repair and maintenance and infrastructure new work. While the sector still faces broader challenges, the sustained month-on-month improvements and a notable rise in new orders point to a more optimistic outlook for the months ahead.
